Multi-year Collaboration with Dutch Leading Hospital in AI for Upskilling Responsible AI Implementation Leaders.

October 3, 2025

Utrecht, The Netherlands – 3 Oct 2025 – Romion Health is proud to announce a new collaboration with Dutch leading hospital in AI, ETZ Hospital (Elisabeth-TweeSteden Ziekenhuis) to launch an innovative Responsible AI Implementation Leadership program, designed to empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to drive safe, effective AI adoption in clinical practice.

As healthcare organizations increasingly recognize the potential of artificial intelligence, the challenge has shifted from whether to adopt AI to how to implement it responsibly. This new training program addresses that critical gap by bringing together clinical, technical, and operational leaders to tackle real-world AI projects with hands-on guidance and peer learning.

A Comprehensive Approach to AI Leadership

The Responsible AI Implementation Leadership program spans five training days over several months, bringing together ETZ frontrunners in AI from multiple disciplines including CMIOs, CNIOs, CISOs, architects, and project managers. Participants work directly on their own AI initiatives while building essential competencies in responsible AI adoption.

The program covers critical questions facing healthcare organizations today:

  • How to select the right AI solution and vendor for your organization
  • How to conduct comprehensive risk analyses for AI in daily clinical practice
  • How to ensure quality through local validation of AI systems
  • How to develop compelling business cases for hospital leadership
  • How to navigate regulatory requirements and ethical considerations
  • How to prepare the broader organization for successful AI adoption
"Healthcare organizations need more than just access to AI technology; they need the expertise to implement it safely and effectively," said Kicky van Leeuwen, Managing Partner, Romion Health. "This program equips healthcare professionals with practical frameworks and real-world experience to take the lead and be the driving force in AI implementation projects in their organization."

Building AI Literacy Across Healthcare

Since February 2025, the European AI Act requires healthcare organizations to build AI literacy. This program helps meet that mandate by empowering leaders and teams to use AI responsibly and driving a culture of innovation across clinical, technical, and administrative staff.

The first group of ETZ employees will kick off the program in October 2025. A new open round will launch in early 2026, inviting healthcare professionals from across organizations to join individually and strengthen their responsible AI capabilities.

Independent, Evidence-Based Guidance

True to Romion Health's mission, the program maintains strict independence from AI vendors and solutions. The focus remains on helping healthcare organizations make informed decisions based on clinical needs, scientific evidence, and organizational context rather than commercial interests.

Healthcare professionals can join upcoming open rounds of the Responsible AI Implementation Leadership program individually, while healthcare organizations also have the option to host an in-house program for their teams.
